It's August Already!

Polson, MT
July 31, 2013

It seems like yesterday we pulled in to Polson, MT. What a fast month this has been! We have had such a great time here. Our next door neighbors for almost the whole month were Don and Ann and their standard poodle Rowdy.

Don and Ann went on a ride with us through the  mountains.

We had a nice time...stopping and walking and taking pictures.

 We did find huckleberries.

And a nice spot for a picnic.

Most afternoons Rowdy sat outside with Don and Ann. We often went over to visit. Rowdy is an awesome canine...and a perfect match for his humans.

Our last week with Ron, Carol and Cooper absolutely flew by. We enjoyed meals together and some fun activities. Lots of laughing was heard around sites 197 and 198!

This was our sunrise this morning...I will miss the view!

This was a bit of a scare a couple of hours ago.

By night fall, we didn't see anymore flames...
Tomorrow is a travel day. We head to St. Mary, MT which is close to the East Glacier entrance. We are sad to leave friends, but excited to be heading for new adventures. Neither one of us have ever been to Glacier.
Ron's tire cover...cool!
Until next time...God Bless.

  2. Loved all your photos - beautiful butterflies. Those flames looks bit too close for comfort. Glad they didn't come any closer.

  4. Fires this time of year are SCAREY. Glad they got that one under control so fast for everyone's sake.

We went to Glacier last year for a week...could have stayed for two or three. Wish we had our passports back then, Canada is so close and would have been on our list, that is for sure. Enjoy it, and be sure to have bear spray if you do any hiking.

  5. That fire was way too close. Especially since everything has been drying out so much lately. You are going to have a wonderful time in Glacier. It is so gorgeous up there.

  8. I imagine that fire was a lot scary! Glad it didn't come your way or last long:)

Have a wonderful time in Glacier! There seems to still be lots of waterfalls and snow. I am sure you will find some amazing hikes. We weren't heavy into hiking then so I am anxious to return and do some two day hikes. Looking forward to your posts.

  12. Love that tire cover, too bad we just got the white boring ones. Your butterflies pictures are awesome and had not seen those species here in the East.
Love your header, those high mountain peaks which reminded me of Alaska or BC.
